In Colombia more than 200,000 ha of forest are felled each year. Mainly for raising cattle. It takes 2ha to feed a single cow in the Amazon! While more than 30 species of animals live in one hectare of forest!

An environmental survey was carried out by the Grupo Proa Foundation and the National University of Colombia in 2015.
tHE RESERVE
Our objective: To buy 100 hectares of Amazonian forest to create a nature reserve intended to observe and conserve more than 1000 species of plants, 500 species of birds, 150 species of mammals and 100 species of fish.
This terrain straddles the two main ecosystems of the Amazon: the highlands and the floodplains. This strategic location will promote the migration of animal species from one ecosystem to another and protect the environment from this natural balance.
The realization of this conservation process will be done in different stages:
1. Search for funds in order to acquire the said land using a fundraiser in which each donor will be allocated a plot of the reserve.
2. Official registration of the reserve in the register of civil society reserves governed by IUCN.
3. Implementation of various conservation works (reforestation, study of fauna and flora)
4. Impact study + with regular readings of the number of species inhabiting the reserve.
HOW CAN YOU HELP US?
To buy the 100ha land we want to conserve we need 97’000 Swiss francs.
That mean that each hectare cost 970 Swiss francs.
1hectare represents 10’000 square meters.
That mean that 1 square meter cost less than 10 cents and that everybody is able to conserve 1 square meter of Amazon forest.
