Nomad lodges is the story of a passion, a dream, that is coming to fruition after years and years of dedication.
Pierre-André Krueger is an accomplished « Explorer & Entrepreneur. » Following his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Geneva, Switzerland, and specialized studies in marketing and hospitality development strategy at Cornell University, he established the inaugural tour operator in French-speaking Switzerland dedicated to exclusive South American journeys.
After more than three decades as a travel organizer and over 150 inspection trips across South America, Krueger founded Nomad lodges, the first luxury sustainable hotel network in South America. His vision encompasses nature conservation and the promotion of local cultures.
Krueger defines « sustainable tourism » as a fundamental commitment rather than a mere marketing strategy. He set foot in the Amazon not to teach, but to learn. In this world where humanity and nature have coexisted for millennia, he chose to listen and integrate, discovering a harmony shaped by time and respect.
Set against this local richness, the history of the West resonates as a warning. Imposed knowledge and singular models of colonization and religion have often failed to understand or respect the very lands they claimed to enlighten.
Nomad lodges takes you on a journey—both inward and outward—where humility becomes the key to questioning our assumptions and finally understanding what it means to live in harmony with nature.

THE BEGINNING
More than a decade ago, a Swiss entrepreneur and travel enthusiast, Pierre-André Krüger fell in love with the beauty and riches of South America. For the past ten years, Mr. Krüger has devoted all his energy and passion into the completion of the dream of a lifetime: Nomad lodges.
THE FOUNDATIONS
From its debuts and concept phase, Nomad lodges was developed around four main pillars: Ecology, Integration, Sustainability, and Ephemeral.
THE INVOLVMENT
Over the years and after more than a hundred and fifty field trips to South America, meeting local communities and exploring the region, Pierre-André’s involvement in the preservation of the local ecosystem’s, cultures and tribes grew stronger and stronger. This led him take part in various associations such as The Long Run and the World Commission on Protected Areas.
EVOLUTION OF THE CONCEPT
The lodge’s concept was always meant to merge with the environment, to be one with its surroundings. Its design and materials are deeply inspired by the rainforest. The project has had many names over the years, such as Amacayacu and eventually Nomad lodges was retained. The idea was to have a self-explanatory brand which would also allow expansions under the same name.
